Tuesday Tunes

From the Music Memiors

What is your favorite song from a Disney Movie?
That is a toughie - I'll have to go with:
Everybody wants to be a Cat from the Aristocats. Jazz music, about felines. You just don't get any better than that.

Do you like any of the current crop of Disney pop stars?
To do that I'd have to know who they are, and I don't. No kids in the house.

Old school Disney music or new and why?
Middle. :) I don't go in for the Dumbo, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White era stuff, and the recent stuff is really hit or miss for me (Loved Aladdin, Mulan, Hercules, didn't care much for Little Mermaid, Lion King, Pocahontas for example).
But I love the music from Aristocats, Jungle Book, and Robin Hood.

If I had to go old or new, I'd go new, I do tend to like a greater percentage of it than the old stuff.

I'm also a fan of Aladdin, & despite being 17 at the time, I met him in Disney world & it was amazing. The Lion King I love. That & the other more recent stuff you mentioned are from my childhood :)

Yeah, Everybody Wants to be a Cat is a cool one I'd totally forgot about (although I probably prefer the Thomas O' Malley song from the same film).

Weird how everybody seems to have interpreted old and new Disney differently; if I'd have classed the Jungle Book as new Disney, then it would have been a much harder decision, and new Disney might well have won.

I like some newer Disney...but I'm a huge fan of The Jungle Book, Lady & The Tramp and of course The Aristocats

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed "Mulan" when I finally saw it about 5 years ago. Both the story and the songs were very good.

A lot of those "in the middle" Disney animated films seem to get forgotten. I'm checking out "The Aristocats" on You Tube right now. It looks like someone posted the whole movie.
